The airfield is located just south of Pyandzh river running between Tajikistan and Afghanistan, surrounded by 11000 ft high mountains. About 97 miles east of Dushanbe, Tajikistan, 145 miles north northeast of Kunduz, 270 miles north of Peshawar, Pakistan.
The airfield lies in a river valley high in 11,000 ft mountains. Probably fair natural drainage.
