Location and Landmarks

The airfield is 7 miles (11 km) southeast of Charikar, 25.5 miles (36 km) north of Kabul , 65 miles (104 km) northwest of Jalalabad, and 165 miles (265 km) southeast of Termez city.

 

Terrain and Drainage

The airfield is located in a valley running north-south and surrounded by mountains rising to 18000 feet (5480 mt). It is relatively flat within the immediate airfield area. There is natural and artificial drainage. A small stream is ducted under the runway. There are drainage ditches along the side of the runway.
